Medexone Tablet 0.5mg

DESCRIPTION

Medexone Tablet relieves inflammation (swelling, heat, redness, and pain) and is used

to treat certain forms of arthritis; skin, blood, kidney, eye, thyroid, and intestinal disorders (e.g., colitis);

severe allergies; and asthma.

The active ingredient, Dexamethasone, is a corticosteroid, is similar to a natural hormone produced

by your adrenal glands. Corticosteroids are hormones produced naturally by the adrenal glands which

have many important functions on every organ system.

INGREDIENT

Each tablet contains 0.5mg of Dexamethasone.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

Adults: one tablet daily, or directed by the physician.

CAUTIONS
Patient should stop taking this medicine suddenly, particularly if they have been taking it for

longer than 3 weeks. This is because long-term use of the medicine suppresses the natural

production of corticosteroids by the adrenal glands. This means that the body becomes temporarily

reliant on the medicine. When it is time to stop treatment the dose should be tapered down gradually,

to allow the adrenal glands to start producing adequate amounts of natural steroids again.
