DESCRIPTION

Diphenhydramine oral solution is a pale pink, clear syrup with raspberry flavour .It relieves symptoms from allergies, eg. runny

nose; sneezing etc. It is an effective expectorant as well. It can be used for the treatment of hives and angioedema.

One of the active ingredients, diphenhydramine, is a sedating antihistamine which acts on histamine H1 receptors. It also has

anticholinergic actions. Antihistamines block the action of histamine, prevent dilatation of blood vessels, reduce redness

and swelling. The anticholinergic action of diphenhydramine also contributes to this effect. Antihistamines pass from the blood

into the brain to produce general sedation and depression of other brain functions, including the vomiting and coughing

mechanisms.

INGREDIENT

INDICATIONS

For management of symptoms of allergic reactions such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itchy eyes and sneezing.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

A maximum of four doses per day should not be exceeded.

Adults: 5-10ml every four hours

Children 6 to 12  years : 2.5 ml - 5 ml every four hours
